Holbrook Design Services Ltd is an independent structural engineering consultancy providing structural calculations and drawings for domestic, residential and small commercial projects.

The practice is led by Daren James, who has over 36 years’ experience in structural and construction-related design. HDS works with homeowners, architects, builders and developers to provide clear, practical and buildable structural design information for Building Control approval and construction use.

Daren began his career in 1989, developing a strong foundation in technical draughting, structural detailing and construction-related design. Over the course of his career, he has worked across industrial steelwork, fabrication, commercial buildings, residential projects, telecommunications, security and renewable energy sectors.

This broad background gives HDS a practical understanding of how structural design information is used by clients, architects, contractors and building control. The aim is to provide clear design information, responsive communication and sensible structural solutions that help projects move forward with confidence.

HDS maintains professional indemnity insurance and focuses on delivering a professional, practical and client-focused service from initial enquiry through to the issue of structural calculations and drawings.
